Sam Hagger arrived at The Forge Inn in 2008 determined to earn a reputation for quality food & drink in an accessible environment. Sam’s passion for the delivering the perfect pub was originally ignited by his first taste of the trade in 1999 at The Forge where he started as a server, determined and passionate Sam, begun to learn all aspects of the trade including food where the real fun began, before long Sam was recruited by a Premium Pub Company and became their youngest ever licensee at just 21.
In October 2009, Sam closed The Forge for extensive refurbishment where it begun its life as The Forge Inn, Village Pub & Dining, today The Forge is regarded as one of Leicester’s pub jewels, offering quality, seasonal food produced by real people in a real kitchen as well as well kept Cask Ale, Great Wines & Cocktails served with passion and flare.
Sam believes that success of The Forge is not just about the vision, but the people that work to make the vision a reality, supported by his fiancée
Kirstie and his family, Sam has built a team of skilled and passionate people who care their pub and its guest, with over 90% of the team pursuing vocational qualifications whilst they work.
